Death in the family
April 23rd, 2010 by Notaflicker · Chilli plants
The VSNi bunch are being a bit shy about their chilli progress thus far – and still no pics of the laydees allowed!
A certain person (who shall remain nameless for now) has killed her first chillibaby within days by ……………wait for it……………watering it with hot water – strangely the chilli baby didn’t appreciate the bath. A replacement has been presented.
Recent dialogue:
A: what the fact that ??? has killed hers within the first few days!!
C: Errrr – it was an experiment you rotten lot!!
A: try telling the poor little chilli that…….what did it ever do to you!
A2: Should social services get involved and take away ??’s chillis?
A: well if you poor hot water on a child then probably………the poor little chilly has feelings!
C: I think someone may have been interfering with my beloved chilli…..
A: certainly wasnt me……i may put sweeties in your tea but i am never unfair in a competition!

Back from out there

I am happy to announce that after almost all hope was lost and obviously all the competing chilli growers have written off Titchy Stryder as dead, he made a miraculous comeback! The poor thing now turned more green than brown and even looks like growing another leaf! That increases my army to 3 chillies!

VSNi get some chilli love
March 29th, 2010 by Notaflicker · Chilli plants, Spreading the chilli love
The good folks at VSNi have joined the chilli party. Ian, Alex, Carey and Amanda all received their chilli babies this morning from my Pho chilli farm. Liz is on holiday so I will look after hers until she returns.
I forgot my camera – which is probably a good thing – as the girls said they needed prior notice to have their pics taken!!

Heres a few (ok more than a few but its the collection) pics of what am growing chilliwise !
First to go in were the Thai chillies
Demon Red…
then the cayenne…
then the Peach Habaneros…
after those The English Chilli Co. sent me some seeds,
Hot Marbles…
Jalapeno…
Ring Of Fire…
Bhut Jolokia ! …
Then Went in Some Corno di Torro Rosso…
and Worldbeater, for a bit of variety ! …
pretty much resulting in the conservatory looking like this…
wont be for long though, got to get the new greenhouse up this week, have a few other things growing too not just chillies, got courgettes, squash, tomatoes (red and yellow), various herbs, salad etc…
Still consider myself a bit of a novice but its all great fun !! (when I get time!)
